Family Movie Night

What is your Child Watching? Try One of These Movies

Movies today aren't exactly kid friendly. Often time’s parents need to worry about what their children may be watching. Many child friendly companies are working on movies that not only keep your children from viewing inappropriate material, but also keep them entertained. Here are a few great movies that I would recommend and you can feel confident about your children watching.

Night at the Museum: A dim-witted guy (Stiller) gains employment at the Museum of Natural History as the nighttime security guard. Tipped off by a pair of day shift old-timers (Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney), his first night on the job is full of danger and surprises, as the humans and other animals on display come to life, looking for trouble.

Bridge To Tarabithia: Fifth grader Jesse Aaron's hopes of becoming the fastest runner in his class are dashed when new girl Leslie Burke outruns everybody, including him. However, Jess and Leslie soon begin a friendship, and discover a magical kingdom in the forest where the two of them reign together as king and queen.

Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: Director Andrew Adamson gives a new dimension to C.S. Lewis's enchanting story with this long-awaited adaptation. As the story begins, Mrs. Pevensie--in order to keep her children safe during World War II--sends Lucy, Edmond, Susan, and Peter off to stay at a professor's country estate. Away from London and under the care of a strict housekeeper, they are instructed to stick to themselves and stay out of trouble. But when an innocent game of hide-and-seek leads young Lucy to a spare room containing a large wardrobe, she discovers something that will change their lives forever.

Happy Feet: In the great nation of Emperor Penguins, deep in Antarctica, you're nobody unless you can sing - which is unfortunate for Mumble (ELIJAH WOOD), who is the worst singer in the world. He is born dancing to his own tune...tap dancing. As fate would have it, his one friend, Gloria (BRITTANY MURPHY), happens to be the best singer around. Mumble and Gloria have a connection from the moment they hatch, but she struggles with his strange "hippity- hoppity" ways. Away from home for the first time, Mumble meets a posse of decidedly un-Emperor-like penguins - the Adelie Amigos. Led by Ramon (ROBIN WILLIAMS), the Adelies instantly embrace Mumble's cool dance moves and invite him to party with them. In Adelie Land, Mumble seeks the counsel of Lovelace the Guru (also voiced by ROBIN WILLIAMS), a crazy-feathered Rockhopper penguin who will answer any of life's questions for the price of a pebble. Together with Lovelace and the Amigos, Mumble sets out across vast landscapes and, after some epic encounters, proves that by being true to yourself, you can make all the difference in the world.

Eragon: In his homeland of Alagaesia, a farm boy happens upon a dragon's egg -- a discovery that leads him on a predestined journey where he realizes he's the one person who can defend his home against an evil king.

So if you’re looking for a good movie to sit down for some quality family movie time, check out one of these movies.

1. We had our kids watch "My Fair Lady" and my son's response was "Are they Gay?' to which I responded, "NO, son--they're British."

2. Your ads are fabulous. How do you do it?

We watch a ton of movies here too. I am a member of the Blockbuster Online plan so we always are getting new movies in our mailbox. I kind of have to go of the rating of the movies though to see if they can watch it.
